How is this possible?

Socceroos win!

I have no cable and it’s a work day here. So I had no access to media that may help me grasp how big this is in Australia.

So, two questions:

  • What is the mood in Australia on Tuesday morning?
  • Can someone describe any highlights for me?

Love, Justin.

Highlights - obviously the gola's! hearing the aussies make a massive noise in the stadium, the fact we had SO much possesion.

Lowlights - doing an assignment afterwards till 230am, the fact we can't complete goals (until the end anyways), the ref, this mornings lecture at 9am at Usyd!

guuuuuuuuuuuuuusssssssssss

The roos had about 20 shots on goal to 5 ... so looked like they were on top the whole time .... but not an aussie believed with their head that we would draw ... let alone win. So when Cahill scored .... we were hugging anyone within reach .... and then he did it again ... and then a third goal!!!!

Football violence almost came to sydney after the ridiculous goal given against us

One of the best nights of my life, without doubt.

Highlights - Being in a room of 40 (?) people watching on a projector screen and just the noise when all 3 goals were scored.

3 goals in the last 8mins....does that ever happen?

Never hugged so many men in 1 night as I did last night.

Right up there with being at the Swans game when Nick Davis kicked "that goal" against Geelong.

well all i can say is I worked at the newsagents today and about 98% of our customers mentioned the soccer, and about 80% of them watched it i reckon! Good vibes all round - one of those things that seems to unite people...

sadly i was stuck doing an assignment at the time so didnt get to see it myself...already regretting that decision...

I'm not as good looking as Tim Freedman, certainly can't write as good a tune.

Also gone by Bloats, Sumes and more recently Tumour Boy, if you prefer...

Who are you, Tim F?

Reading Jman ... (have been one of those secret readers for ages!) yeah, I think it is one of those things where it actually probably would have been better to be in Aus - no one really cared in Europe.

It was definately good...
After almost wanting to declare war on Egypt (the referee), I was placated by some Aussie brilliance, then overjoyed with the follow-up goals.
Also I recieved a phone call at 1am in the morning from a friend who just wanted to share her excitement with someone - That shows how much it was a big deal.
