Lady Perth

And this one is by a gentleman I haven't met, Dave E, who writes of Lady Perth:
Perth
She swims in from the shore - long legged and golden brown
she is aloof from the world and looks a lot at her own reflection.
men of iron and and men of gold have tried to claim her.
Her eyes reflect the great blue expanse of sky and sea.
beauty.
she owns a lot of pretty things
intoxicated by wealth and self.
cruelty.
For the record, I was born in Perth.

Why did Perth come to mind all of a sudden?

Hey Justin, thanks for this post - Can I bother you to edit it, I lazy when I added it to your comments. It should read:

Perth

she is aloof from the world and looks a lot at her own reflection.
men of iron and and men of gold have tried to claim her.
Her eyes reflect the great blue expanse of sky and sea.
beauty.
she owns a lot of pretty things
intoxicated by wealth and self.
cruelty.

Such a great idea - thanks!

Great Justin,
Thanks!
So where in Perth did you grow up?

I'd be interested to know if you picked up that the first line was an inference to the Swan River?

I was born in Subiaco. I spent the first 3 years of my life HERE. And then I moved to Sydney. So I have no recollection of Perth.

But I visited in 1980. See HERE.

Hi Susan -- My Dad got a job there. They moved from England where they were for a few years. Then he got a job in Sydney, where we stayed.

Love to Rory and kids.
